Opinion : Afghanistan won’t doom Democrats in 2022. But it has left a wound.
A Roman toilet amid the ruins in Ostia, Italy. The Romans' plumbing technology probably could've come in handy during the Dark Ages. Although certain documentaries are fond of trotting out ancient aliens or other fringe theories to explain our ancestors' advancements, in truth, we need reasons no more far-flung than the fact that ingenuity is humanity's oldest quality. Left to our own devices and allowed to exist without constant fear of death by hunger or violence, we devise some startling stuff - even if some of our better efforts don't outlast our calamities. Then again, sometimes they do. The Western world's progress was knocked back centuries by the Dark Ages, but the Greek and Roman knowledge it lost - some examples of which you'll find in these pages - later found its way back to the Europe via the Islamic world, where in the meantime it had helped spawn a golden age. Conversely, some answers are lost because the relevant question hasn't yet been asked, or because a better answer shoves it into the dustbin of history. This lets you scan the articles on the page more efficiently. Sometimes you'll even spot more headlines that you might never have seen buried on the original page. Don't feel badly if you haven't heard of RSS -- you may have already come into contact with it without knowing its name. Some Web-browsing software automatically detects RSS feeds. Firefox and Opera display the now-common square orange badge for a Web feed in the browser's address bar when they find RSS feeds on a site. You'll see a similar symbol in Internet Explorer's toolbar. Safari shows a blue rectangle with "RSS" written in white letters. Those emblems show the presence of active RSS feeds on a site to help you get started. Click on one, though, and you'll get a list of options which may seem a little intimidating if you don't know what they mean. Some sites have multiple feeds for the same page with different versions of RSS or a competing standard, Atom. But that's a good thing, because they supposedly taste quite nasty. They've also got slimy skin. Scales that ooze mucus. Bet you're not so hungry for a taste of prehistoric fish anymore.L.B. Smith discovered the African coelacanth, illustrated here. The discovery of the coelacanth is a bit miraculous when you consider the two main players in this drama: Marjorie Courtenay-Latimer, a young curator at a natural history museum in East London, South Africa, and J.L.B. Smith, a chemistry professor and amateur ichthyologist who worked at Rhodes University in nearby Grahamstown. While neither was an expert in ancient fish, both almost instinctively knew they'd stumbled upon something quite important. It was Dec. 22, 1938. The manager of a local trawler fleet called Courtenay-Latimer to see if she wanted to examine a load of fish hauled in that day, in case there were any worthy of display in her museum. Tucked amid the haul, which consisted mainly of sharks, was an intriguing blue limb-like fin. It was attached to a 5-foot- (1.5 meters)- long, heavily-scaled, blue-gray fish. The fish weighed 127 pounds (57 kilograms). Was alive when caught. Although neither Courtenay-Latimer nor the fishermen knew what it was, she felt it was significant and took it to the museum's taxidermist. This use of sound has its limitations -- for example, if you try taking a picture from inside a tour bus with the windows closed, the sound waves will bounce off of the window instead of the subject and so focus the lens incorrectly. This Polaroid system is a classic active system. It is called "active" because the camera emits something (in this case, sound waves) in order to detect the distance of the subject from the camera. Infrared systems use a variety of techniques to judge the distance. For example, this patent describes a system that reflects an infrared pulse of light off the subject and looks at the intensity of the reflected light to judge the distance. Infrared is active because the autofocus system is always sending out invisible infrared light energy in pulses when in focus mode. It is not hard to imagine a system in which the camera sends out pulses of infrared light just like the Polaroid camera sends out pulses of sound. The security council unanimously advised Putin he should recognize the self-proclaimed People’s Republic of Donetsk and Lugansk. President Joe Biden is meeting Monday with his national security team, the White House confirmed. Seen arriving at the White House shortly after 10 a.m. Chairman of the Joint Chiefs Gen. Mark Milley, Vice President Kamala Harris, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and CIA director William Burns. Russia has claimed to have destroyed two Ukrainian armored vehicles and killed five Ukrainians it claimed crossed into Russian territory, in unverified reports as Russia appears to be intensifying efforts to build a pretext to attack Ukraine. Russia’s military and its FSB intelligence service claimed a Ukrainian “sabotage and reconnaissance group” was detected Monday morning near a village close to the border in the Rostov region that neighbors the two Russian-controlled separatist regions in eastern Ukraine. Ukraine has denied the Russian claim and it comes amid a barrage of false reports and staged videos from Russia and the separatists of supposed Ukrainian attacks. http://la.herelle.free.fr/forums/upload/viewtopic.php?pid=366267#p366267 https://simspulse.com/topic/934278-%D0%BF%D1%80%D0%B8%D1%81%D1%8F%D0%B6%D0%BD%D0%B0%D1%8F-3-%D1%81%D0%B5%D1%80%D0%B8%D1%8F-%D0%BF%D1%80%D0%B8%D1%81%D1%8F%D0%B6%D0%BD%D0%B0%D1%8F-3-%D1%81%D0%B5%D1%80%D0%B8%D1%8F-%D1%81%D0%BC%D0%BE%D1%82%D1%80%D0%B5%D1%82%D1%8C-%D0%BE%D0%BD%D0%BB%D0%B0%D0%B9%D0%BD-%D0%B2%D1%81%D0%B5-%D1%81%D0%B5%D1%80%D0%B8%D0%B8-123-81617-%D1%81%D0%B5%D1%80%D0%B8%D0%B8/ https://www.aqueousmeditation.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=896233 https://simspulse.com/topic/934284-%D1%82%D0%B0%D0%BD%D1%86%D1%8B-%D0%BD%D0%B0-%D1%83%D0%B3%D0%BB%D1%8F%D1%85-3-%D1%81%D0%B5%D1%80%D0%B8%D1%8F-%D1%82%D0%B0%D0%BD%D1%86%D1%8B-%D0%BD%D0%B0-%D1%83%D0%B3%D0%BB%D1%8F%D1%85-3-%D1%81%D0%B5%D1%80%D0%B8%D1%8F-%D1%81%D0%BC%D0%BE%D1%82%D1%80%D0%B5%D1%82%D1%8C-%D0%BE%D0%BD%D0%BB%D0%B0%D0%B9%D0%BD-%D0%B2%D1%81%D0%B5-%D1%81%D0%B5%D1%80%D0%B8%D0%B8-127-121617-%D1%81%D0%B5%D1%80%D0%B8%D0%B8/ https://simspulse.com/topic/934279-%D0%BC%D0%BE%D0%B4%D0%BD%D1%8B%D0%B9-%D1%81%D0%B8%D0%BD%D0%B4%D0%B8%D0%BA%D0%B0%D1%82-6-%D1%81%D0%B5%D1%80%D0%B8%D1%8F-%D0%BC%D0%BE%D0%B4%D0%BD%D1%8B%D0%B9-%D1%81%D0%B8%D0%BD%D0%B4%D0%B8%D0%BA%D0%B0%D1%82-6-%D1%81%D0%B5%D1%80%D0%B8%D1%8F-%D1%81%D0%BC%D0%BE%D1%82%D1%80%D0%B5%D1%82%D1%8C-%D0%BE%D0%BD%D0%BB%D0%B0%D0%B9%D0%BD-%D0%B2%D1%81%D0%B5-%D1%81%D0%B5%D1%80%D0%B8%D0%B8-125-91617-%D1%81%D0%B5%D1%80%D0%B8%D0%B8/ https://41pube.me/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=132168 http://xn--l1adgmc.xn---911-53dalyc2e3bgeo.xn--p1ai/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=21426 https://41pube.me/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=132043 http://insidious.biz/community/index.php?/topic/438027-%D0%BE%D1%82%D0%B5%D1%86-13-%D1%81%D0%B5%D1%80%D0%B8%D1%8F-%D0%BE%D1%82%D0%B5%D1%86-13-%D1%81%D0%B5%D1%80%D0%B8%D1%8F-%D1%81%D0%BC%D0%BE%D1%82%D1%80%D0%B5%D1%82%D1%8C-%D0%BE%D0%BD%D0%BB%D0%B0%D0%B9%D0%BD-%D0%B2%D1%81%D0%B5-%D1%81%D0%B5%D1%80%D0%B8%D0%B8-126-81617-%D1%81%D0%B5%D1%80%D0%B8%D0%B8/ http://54.93.120.157/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=28&p=93938#p93938 http://54.93.120.157/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=588 http://aena.at/phpbb3/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=1381416 https://dzair-gamer.boards.net/thread/1/welcome-new-forum?page=147#scrollTo=4412 https://21stcenturylyceum.org/2020/10/04/s1-e9-a-quickie-on-truth/#comment-107001 http://manga.heart.free.fr/forum/viewtopic.php?p=315070#315070 http://r00tsandwings.com/index.php?topic=463529.new#new https://simspulse.com/topic/1031355-opinion-what-is-the-best-girl-scout-cookie-ask-alexandra-petri/ http://julien.havez.free.fr/forum/viewtopic.php?p=259048#259048 http://www.chickenwheel.com/guild/forums/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=205197 https://simspulse.com/topic/1031589-dc-area-forecast-milder-by-this-afternoon-storms-possible-late-thursday/ http://g5000.com/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=71&extra=
